This is what 'Max' says about his after school club...
"I enjoy the after school club although the staff are pretty strict! But it is enjoyable and you get to have your own favourite foods. You can relax, do art, play on the PS2 if you wish, only you have to be very good and behave yourself. The food they serve is delicious and they make you feel at home. The staff are qualified and are very welcoming to new children."
The After School Club has now been running for 17 years. The club operates every weekday from the end of school until 5.50pm, providing quality, creative child care for children aged between 5 to 11 years.
The club aims to provide cost effective child care in a creative and child-centred environment for children whose parents or carers are working or studying.
The club organises many activities such as a pool competition, junior mastermind and team quizzes. The children are able to produce some lovely art work using various types of media and have taken part in the 'Italian week'. The highlight recently has been a play which the children wrote, directed and performed called “The Curse of the Diabolical Gerbil”.
A small amount of funding is received from Bristol City Council but we are largely self-funding. Last year we raised £100 from a cake sale and a raffle so a big thankyou to all those who contributed and please let us know by calling the centre on 977 2100 if you could help us in the future.
